Adam's Warm-Up Routine: Injury Prevention and Performance
Created by: Adam Ondra2024/08/26
Warming up is a crucial part of climbing training. Simply put, it has two fundamental purposes: injury prevention and overall body warm-up and stretching to achieve the best performance. These two aspects are closely related. Many people are surprised to learn that a good warm-up is more important for injury prevention than stretching after physical activity. In short, if we use our bodies correctly, we will have fewer injuries. This warm-up can take approximately 20 minutes, followed by a slow start to climbing.
The warm-up consists of two phases:
- Synovial: This phase serves to distribute fluid within the joints, effectively "lubricating" them.
- Fascial: This phase creates the interconnection of the muscular system and increases overall mobility.
