Climbing trip to Switzerland and 9a+ first ascent

I spent a few days around Switzerland, visiting Mammut HQ and climbing on the rock! Despite the very miserable weather forecast, I was lucky to get quite a bit of climbing.

Isenfluh was the first crag, and I knew about one project bolted by Stephan Siegrist that we tried with Jakob Schubert this spring, but after we broke one crimp, we gave up as we had no kneepads.

This time, using a very marginal kneebar, I unlocked a very improbable sequence. On my second day, I made the first ascent of this line, which is 9a+. Name to be yet considered. On the third day, I made a visit to Soyhieres, an amazing crag where I would love to return.

Tickcklist:

  • Deja 8b+ onsight
  • Un Chant pour Phil 8c onsight
  • Le temps difficile 8c+ 2nd go (not too far to onsight)
  • Mines de rien 8b+ 1st go (not a proper onsight as it shares the first 2 bolts with Un chant pour Phil)

You can look forward to a video to be released on my YouTube channel soon.
